Scope
We tested 245 companies across 9 industries in Belgium and the Netherlands.
We let our agent explore their public digital channels, and gave it different top tasks, corresponding to the top tasks within each industry, based on keyword research.

how do we test for
agentic readiness
01 - discoverability
Can an agent reach you at all?
Whether anything answers a well-behaved agent.
02 - readability
Can a machine understand what it finds?
Whether content, prices, availability, ... are machine-readable.
03 - actionability
Can it acutally get the job done?
Actual user jobs-to-be-done, attempted for real. Every task lands on one of four outcomes, and failures name their blocker.
01 — Discoverability
Whether a compliant agent gets a reply at all, and what it finds when it does.
Signals we check
robots.txt, sitemap.xml, llms.txt, security.txtWhether the server answers an identified agent at allLanguage coverage across the marketReached by a link, or only by guessing the URL
Why it matters for agentic readiness
Everything else is downstream of this. An agent cannot evaluate what it never retrieves, and a company that never answers is not measurable at all. It’s simply invisible to agents.
02 — Readability
Readability here means readable by a machine, not plain language for people.
Signals we check
- Are pages server-rendered, or JavaScript-only (= empty shells)?
- Text-to-markup ratio of what’s delivered
- Prices and key facts present in the raw HTML
- Structured data on the pageIs there a machine surface, like a public API, catalogue, MCP server, etc.
Why it matters for agentic readiness
Being reachable is not the same as being understood. Agents route around ambiguity: when two providers give the same answer and one is unambiguous, the unambiguous one wins. This is where most of the damage is done, and it is rarely anyone’s decision. It’s often a front-end architecture choice that happens to make you unreadable.
03 — Actionability
Actionability means whether a real customer job can be completed.
Signals we check
Per sector we define the jobs people actually come for — compare plans, switch provider, open an account, request a quote, buy a ticket. And an agent attempts them starting from nothing but your name and your homepage. Each task is either informational (look something up) or transactional (act). To complete the tasks, the agent is given a realistic profile about their user (as memory.md), like residence, typical monthly spending on telco or utilities, etc.
Why it matters for agentic readiness
This is really what being agentic is truly about. This is the difference between being read about and being chosen. A company an agent can find and understand but not transact with is a billboard without a door.
how
our audit
runs
LAYER 01
The probe: no judgement at all
A script fetches your robots.txt, sitemap, llms.txt, security.txt, your homepage and the pages each task needs, then measures them: server-rendered or not, how much text is in the markup, whether prices are really there, structured data, language coverage. Same company, same day, same numbers. This feeds five of the six dimensions.
LAYER 02
The agent: a real attempt
An agent is given your name and your root URL and nothing else, then tries the sector's jobs the way a customer's agent would.
Each attempt gets one outcome from a fixed five-point scale and, if it failed, a blocker from a closed list. No free-text verdicts, so results can be counted.
RULE 01
We measure,
and we don’t estimate
Every number in a report comes from the script. The model's only job is to classify what happened against fixed anchors. It never invents a score, and read and act tasks are never averaged into one flattering average.
RULE 02
We identify as an agent
We send a truthful, identifying user agent and never disguise ourselves as a browser. If a site serves a person and refuses us, that refusal is the agent experience. We record it as a result, not an error.
Results
There are two ways we report agentic readiness. The kind of experience an agent encountered. And how far it got across that company's tasks.
types of agentic
experiences
Invisibles
An agent cannot reach or read them, they are just not part of the conversation.
Informers
Agents can get in and answer a question, but they cannot complete a job.
Showroom
Everything on display but no till. Usually by accident.
Gatekeeper
The task can only be completed behind a login, identity app, or in a dedicated app. Deliberate, every time.
Actors
Agents can complete at least one job end to end.
Always a decision to point outwards.
