What’s the most untrue cliché about being a salesperson?
Probably that all salespeople are sweet-talkers who promise the impossible. But the fact is, that I - along with many other sales colleagues these days - try to properly understand and respond to clients' situations and challenges. Because, honestly, it is the only way to see if our services can be of value.
Any rituals when you seal a deal?
Not really. What we do on a daily basis at In The Pocket isn't a one-man show. It's a team sport. When the deal is sealed, there's no real tradition or ritual. We will most likely celebrate over a few beers with the whole team that worked on the deal or the project.
What do you love about working here. How is it different from your previous jobs?
I love the fact that by collaborating with them for a long time, I get a chance to truly build trust, understand and match clients' & colleagues' preferences, challenges, skills and ambitions. In previous jobs, I often only had short-term contacts which made it harder to build more profound relationships. In The Pockets' focus on being a genuinely nice place to work in all possible aspects is another big distinction from my previous employers.
